Tramuntana Gallery was founded in March 2024 in Vulpellac, in the Baix Empordà region of Catalonia, as a space dedicated to promoting contemporary art through the lens of objects, craftsmanship, and material. During its first year, the gallery presented eight exhibitions with a coherent, dynamic, and consistent program.

Its programming focuses mainly on ceramics, textiles, and furniture, with particular attention to manual processes, traditional techniques, and local production. The gallery is convinced that applied arts should no longer be relegated to the margins but should instead take a central place in today’s cultural discourse.

Ceramics hold a central role in the gallery’s vision. The gallery collaborates with artists who approach this medium from diverse perspectives — popular, sculptural, experimental, and functional — always within a contemporary framework. Tramuntana has hosted established ceramicists such as Claudi Casanovas, as well as a new generation of emerging talents, including Anastasia Shu, David Rosell, Berta-Blanca T. Ivanow, Raquel Quevedo, Roger Coll-Krasnai, and Jordina Ferrando. Their works reflect a fertile intersection between craftsmanship, experimentation, and individual expression.

Léonore Chastagner (fr)

After studying art history at the École du Louvre and the Sorbonne, and then sculpture at New York University, Léonore developed a vocabulary of figurative forms centred on notions of intimacy, interiority and tenderness. She leaves clay untouched and adopts a craft-based approach, oscillating between the classical and the old-fashioned to address the notion of expectation linked to the feminine.

ceramics is the material of archaeological digs, of proof, of trace, of permanence, it allows me to inscribe the everyday in the long term.

The artist combines feminism with art history, artefacts and the museum setting. She also integrates personal elements, echoing the practice of diaries and miniatures historically associated with women.

Founded in 2013 by Munich-born Esther Verhaeghe de Naeyer, Esther Verhaeghe – art concepts has evolved from a nomadic and experimental platform into a Brussels-based gallery known for its poetic and reflective curatorial vision. Conceived at first as a gallery without fixed walls, it embraced the challenge of presenting contemporary art in unexpected and transformative spaces — a concept that positioned it early on as an innovative and forward-looking voice within the Belgian art scene.
The gallery’s program centers on artists who explore fragility, impermanence, transformation, and perception, questioning how the invisible can be made tangible. These notions form the core of the gallery’s curatorial identity, guided by the belief that art reveals the subtle connections between inner and outer worlds.
Through thoughtfully curated exhibitions and international collaborations, Esther Verhaeghe – art concepts encourages meaningful dialogues between works that touch the intimate and the universal, often showing how vulnerability can become a source of strength and renewal. The gallery aims to create spaces for contemplation and exchange — places where art becomes a bridge between thought and emotion, between silence and presence.
We are part of a challenging world with fast changing paradigms. The artists represented by the gallery reflect and question our society. As a gallery we believe in the power of poetic images, those that allow us to reconnect with what we feel essential, first in ourselves, and in our relationship to the world around us.

Founded in 1984 in Ankara, Galeri Nev has presented more than three hundred exhibitions over the last forty years. Initially centered around Turkey’s ‘early modernists’ the gallery’s program gradually expanded to include artists from all subsequent generations, including the youngest. In the last decade, the gallery has dedicated particular emphasis on the practices of the artist women in its cohort and researched the effects of generational intersections, in addition to the convergence of different media and the influence of various exhibition spaces. These spaces dissipated to various hubs around the world with the gallery's participation in international fairs such as Frieze New York, The Armory Show, Photo London, and Paris Internationale. Additionally, Galeri Nev has amplified its presence in Turkey beyond Ankara through its annual ‘ephemeral’ exhibitions in Istanbul, deliberatly taking place at a different venue each time. Last year, the gallery continued its tradition of publishing art books, keeping its long-standing open-access library, and curating exhibitions that draw from both its own forty-year history and Turkey’s exceptional artistic productions and experiences. The year 2024 became a celebration of both Galeri Nev’s legacy and the broader history of art in Turkey.

Christophe Hioco has always been, above all, a passionate collector since his youth. His fascination with Asian art began more than twenty-five years ago, when he had the opportunity to live in Asia—first in Tokyo for three years, and then in Singapore.

In 2003, after thirty years as Managing Director at J.P. Morgan, he decided to dedicate himself fully to his passion and turn to the field of antiquities, first in London and later in Paris.

The selection criteria of Galerie Hioco are as demanding as those of the world’s leading museums, with particular attention paid to originality, quality, provenance, and authenticity. Christophe Hioco regularly seeks the advice of renowned independent experts in their fields and systematically employs the most advanced scientific methods to confirm the authenticity and integrity of the works presented.

More recently, Christophe Hioco and his son, Gildas, have developed a collection of contemporary Japanese ceramics, featuring sculptural works by artists already represented in major museums. Most of these artists enjoy excellent international visibility, both in museum collections and through significant exhibitions. Since 2010, the Metropolitan Museum of Art has dedicated several exhibitions to contemporary Japanese ceramics. In this context, Galerie Hioco strives to present a selection of artists with diverse profiles and practices, all representative of the vitality of contemporary Japanese ceramics.

Founded in 1996, the gallery focuses on the many and diverse expressive possibilities of contemporary art in fired clay – from exquisite examples of vessel ceramics to sculptural pieces, all of which go far beyond traditional notions of "applied" art.

Against the backdrop of the bare stone walls of the gallery with their wabi-sabi aesthetic, each exhibition conducted in the context of the annual succession of spring, summer and autumn comes across as excitingly different and new.

The exhibits frequently appear in a dialogue with contemporary painting born of a kindred spirit. The programme of the gallery includes both German and international positions. In particular, the gallery is responsible for the artistic legacy of ceramic sculptor Klaus Lehmann, who died in 2016.
